old friends return

Just as we were heading out today, we see Brody & Mickey (and human Jen). Brody used to come to the beach just about every day. We met him when we was just a little critter, about 6 months younger than Tempest. Then Jen adopted Mickey a few months back, and two bulldogs are 10 times the work as one. Mickey likes to steal other dogs' toys, much like Riptide, but he won't give them back.
So, this summer, with all the extra people and dogs around, Jen decided to take the dogs for walk instead of the beach. Now that fall is in the air, sounds like they plan to join us more often.
Brody doesn't play with other dogs. He just (im)patiently waits for Jen to throw the imaginary ball for him to fetch or waits for a Lab of some sort to run along while it is chasing their own ball. And Mickey seems to have calmed down a bit. He's about the same age as Riptide, so they are slowly losing their puppy energy (yeah, right).
Between Mickey, Riptide and Tempest, along with the energetic mix puppy and brave and curious Pug there today, we saw some serious canine wrestling. Watch your knees!

[Brody (L) and is bully bro, Mickey share some serious MUGshots]

About This Blog

San Diego's Dog Beach (in Ocean Beach) is the original leash-free dog beach. It's a stretch of sand and ocean that is one big 24-hour playground for canines and humans. This unique place is home to many, and a special trip for others. There is always a story to tell. I'm lucky enough to visit Dog Beach nearly every day, and this blog is my way of sharing a wonderful place with anyone who loves dogs, the beach, or both.

I'm a PR gun for hire that spends much of my day tied to the computer or iPhone. After moving to San Diego from the Midwest 13 years ago, I never looked back. I found my home. My home office is only a mile away from the Pacific Ocean, which allows me to enjoy mornings at San Diego's most excellent leash-free beach with my dogs. Social and exercise time for all of us.
