president of the riptide fan club (iphone friday #6)

A story. As told by the iPhone...

This is what happens Riptide and Dude meet. They play tug-o-war as long as you'll let them. Or until Riptide has more salt water down his throat than he can handle. They love it, I love it, and countless bystanders love it.

Occasionally, Tempest joins in the fun. Dude and Riptide don't mind.

There is one person - who I refer to as the President of the Riptide Fan Club - that does mind. Meet Conor. Every time Rip & Dude do their thing, Conor gets very upset. In fact, when he sees Riptide approaching, he breaks down in tears. He yells "let go! let go!" while they play. Conor is Dude's human boy, and he is not amused by Riptide's playful antics. Anyone up for his post when he retires?

I tried to get a pic of Conor really pushing the tears, but he kept hiding his face in his Dad's chest. He goes crazy the minute he sees Riptide. It's hilarious. I'll see what I can capture next time, Liz!

Poor Conor, I suppose it could seem a lil frightening, as if they might be tearing each other apart.

Hope you guys had a fun Halloween!

About This Blog

San Diego's Dog Beach (in Ocean Beach) is the original leash-free dog beach. It's a stretch of sand and ocean that is one big 24-hour playground for canines and humans. This unique place is home to many, and a special trip for others. There is always a story to tell. I'm lucky enough to visit Dog Beach nearly every day, and this blog is my way of sharing a wonderful place with anyone who loves dogs, the beach, or both.

I'm a PR gun for hire that spends much of my day tied to the computer or iPhone. After moving to San Diego from the Midwest 13 years ago, I never looked back. I found my home. My home office is only a mile away from the Pacific Ocean, which allows me to enjoy mornings at San Diego's most excellent leash-free beach with my dogs. Social and exercise time for all of us.
